History

The Guerra Family has been a part of San Benito County agriculture for 90 years, spanning five generations. Having worked in farming, Frank, Carl and Anthony Guerra entered into the walnut processing industry in 1946, creating the Guerra Nut Shelling Co. This company is currently one of Hollister’s most successful businesses and one of it’s largest employers. They ship packaged walnuts all over the world and are the exclusive suppliers to one of the nation's top retailers. The family’s agricultural passion is being furthered thru cattle ranching, vineyard plantings, and future plans to enter the wine and olive oil businesses.
This olive tree was planted over 50 years ago in the yard of our great-great grandfather. In 2006 we moved it four miles across town to anchor the entrance of the family’s future.
